Big event at Buffalo Wild Wings!

Well despite the punishing traffic of Miami, the event last night at the Buffalo Wild Wings at Dolphin Mall was quite the success. First off, a small shout out to one of my readers, Mark, for making the trek out to the restaurant for the event last night – much appreciated. Love meeting readers and hearing what it is that you love about the game.

So we had a pretty good group of folks who were excited to meet Trey Wingo and Mark Schlereth, which really gave the event that extra bit of enthusiasm. Those guys know their football and are darn good at working a crowd. I had a chance to talk a bit about the awesomeness of my team and answer some fantasy football questions during the Q&A. We talked a bit about who might be next year’s Chris Johnson, and will I’m not sure I see anyone bringing forth the same type of monster production that Johnson did, I offered up Jamaal Charles as a guy with great potential for 2010. Schlereth suggested Jerome Harrison and considering Schlereth won both of the 2 fantasy leagues he participated in, I think it’s worth listening to advice from a Super Bowl winner, Pro Bowler, and FF champion all rolled into one. Another interesting note from him – better quarterback between Peyton Manning and John Elway? Peyton.

Meanwhile, Wingo has a frighteningly good memory for stats and games – the dude is a walking football encyclopedia and quite a nice guy to boot. Great combo in my book.

So all in all, good times and I continue to feel so fortunate to have had this experience. I’ve got some photos that will have to go up next week once I’m back home and near my camera cord (it’s always something that gets left behind…).

But I got my Super Bowl tickets from Trey and upon first inspection we all thought they might be on the 50 yard line – not so, they’re in the end zone but only about 10 yards up. I’m pretty psyched – those are going to be amazing seats. So look for me in the end zone at various times during the game…you never know, maybe I will be visible, which might just make my mom’s year!
